We’re delighted to welcome Shajia and Andy as the ARP’s newest members.
They bring professional knowledge, personal experience and a shared commitment to improving homes, services and communities.
Meet Shajia
Shajia has been an A2Dominion resident for almost 12 years. She has more than 10 years’ experience in housing, having worked in executive support, corporate services and customer services. She brings both professional knowledge and personal experience to the panel.
Shajia joined because she believes residents should have a real say in decisions about their homes and communities. She wants to make sure different resident experiences are heard and to work with residents and A2Dominion to improve communication, build trust and make sure the organisation is accountable to residents.
Shajia said:
“Residents should feel heard, respected and able to have a meaningful say. It’s important to show how we’ve considered their views and, where possible, what has changed as a result.”
Meet Andy
Andy has lived at an A2Dominion development in Ealing since it opened in November 2009. Before retiring, he worked as a journalist at BBC News for 30 years. He reported on politics at Westminster and produced Newsnight and the Today programme.
Andy wants to use his experience of communications, storytelling and language to support the panel. He’s keen to help make information clear, useful and easy to find. He’s also interested in how the tone of our communications and the design of our website can help residents get the best service.
Andy said:
“I joined the panel because I’ve been fortunate in my life and career, and I want to give something back. I want to be part of a team that makes positive change happen.”
Have your say
The All Residents Panel is one of several ways to get involved and help shape our services. You can choose opportunities that match your interests and the time you have available. You don’t need any previous experience. We want to hear your views and what matters to you.
Recruitment for the panel is currently open, so if you would like to apply, and work alongside Shajia, Andy and the other panel members, please fill in the application form and tell us a bit about yourself and why you’d like to get involved. You can also visit our website to explore other ways to get involved and register your interest.
If you’d like to discuss your application or need help completing the form, please contact a member of the Insights and Engagement team (Shabina, Vanessa or Emma) on 020 8825 2181 or email [email protected].
